Login to HP 150nw admin user via the web console, default credentials

Image
HP 150NW Admin Login I had this issue today when I was trying to web into the network interface of a HP 150NW network printer, the default username and password credentials. After searching the printer i found no password for the admin login, and also no information online worked for default credentials, it turns out it is the WPS code that you need to enter. Username : admin Password : WPS Code To get this code hold down the paper button on the printer which will print off your summary pages including the WPS code. Next web to the IP address of the printer, and then click login. Enter the admin username and WPS passkey and you will now have admin access and be able to change the IP address etc etc. If this helps Please think about a little tip for me (all goes to my kids) current rate is £3

HP Desktop PC, no keyboards work , errors in device manager

Image
I had an issue this week with a PC that would boot to windows but then have no keyboards working, also in even viewer it would show keyboard devices with errors. The fix was a Regedit. Open Regedit Navigate to  Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e96b-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}   In there go to Upper Filters and remove the HP items so it should just read kbdclass. save and reboot your machine. Fingers crossed it boots up with a keyboard this time! Buy me a beer :)

Office 2013 Asking for Password 365 Exchange - no reason just started happening

Image
So todays issue revolves around office 2013 and exchange 365 accounts.  I had an issue with a user's machine that just kept asking for the password but would not accept it, the login box kept coming back up. Turns out 2013 uses an old auth method so we need to force it to use the new method. So using regedit you need to add the below key Registry key Type Value HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\AlwaysUseMSOAuthForAutoDiscover REG_DWORD 1 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Identity\EnableADAL REG_DWORD 1 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Identity\Version REG_DWORD 1 You May also create a reg key file if you wanted to do a few machines Enable modern authentication for Office 2013 clients Close Outlook. Copy and paste the following text into Notepad: text Copy Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Exchange] "AlwaysUseMSOAuthForAutoDiscover"=dword:00000001 [HKEY_CURRE...

Sbs 2011 Migration to 365 - Autodiscover change

Image
If you are migrating from exchange on site to exchange 365 you may notice the machines will still look locally for the auto discover reference and not go to your new 365 setup. In Exchange PowerShell on your SBS server run the below command - Set-ClientAccessServer –Identity “your CAS servername” –AutoDiscoverServiceInternalUri $NULL *Putting your server name in the command. After this has been done the machines will no longer look locally for the auto discover record Buy me a beer :)

Office 365 - Outlook 365 sign in window disappears unable to login

Image
Had an issue today in outlook where the sign-in window to add the credentials kept on disappearing, little bit annoying for the user as no emails were coming through. Tracked it down to a registry change, once this was added the login box popped up as normal. Go to the registry editor (Win+R; regedit)   go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Microsoft ->Office -> 16.0 ->Common -> Identity   Inside "Identity", create a new REG_DWORD value called "EnableADAL" and leave the value at 0   the login window is slightly different but it works :)   Buy me a beer :)

Terminal server license has expired - Microsoft

Image
The Problem Terminal service grace period has expired This in turn prevents any remote desktop connection to the server, which is a problem if this is how you connect to the server. I had to do a remote registry to the server and then remote reboot. The Solution There is a registry key located HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\RCM\GracePeriod Inside that container will be a binary key, all you need to do is delete that key and reboot the server, upon reboot everything should be working again. Buy me a beer :)

Windows 10 mapped drives not showing in old programs

I had a n issue with a PC not seeing mapped drives within an old program on windows 10. Their software support had no answers so found the below fix, 1. Open regedit 2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Policies -> System 3. On the right, you will see ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin,... etc. 4. click on empty space, ADD DWORD(32bit), then name it "EnableLinkedConnections". Double click it and set the data to 1. 5. Reboot and you will see the mapped drives showing This gave me my mapped drives back within the software!

Fix Windows 10 VPN - Windows 8 Vpn's all in one place

Image
So the most annoying thing about windows 10 if you use lots of VPN's is the fact its now 4 steps to get connected, very annoying. If you want to fix this then please do the below. Open regedit (WIN+R and type regedit.exe) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Control Panel\Settings\Network Take ownership of the “Network” key/folder (right click, Permissions) Select “Advanced” in the Permissions window In the Advanced window, select “Change” where the owner field is (at the top of the window) Type in your username and save your changes. Close the advanced window Now select “Administrators” in the security tab Make sure “Full control” is selected, then apply changes Now that’s done, double click “ReplaceVan” Change it’s value to 2 Enjoy connecting and disconnecting from your VPNs in one place! After doing the above you get the same interface for VPN's as you did in windows 8 ie bottom right hand corner near the clock, and they a...

Get windows 10 - on windows 7, notification has popped up

Image
So I turned my laptop on today and noticed a windows icon lurking in the taskbar, which is new! On clicking on the icon the below window pops up. This is not spyware or malware this is a legit bit of software from Microsoft. There is a button at the bottom left to press to register for your free version of windows 10, just click it and it will go away. Scrolling through the windows shows a bit of info, but if I am honest there is nothing to see in there. Release date for windows 10 is July 29th, not long to go!

process1_initialization_failed sbs 2011

Image
Had the error process1_initialization_failed today while working on a sbs2011 server, just blue screened on reboot and was unable to get into the O/S. Tried everything from deleting the boot up cache to changing the partition boot order nothing worked, until a brainwave hit! The server itself has the same boot up structure as windows 7 but the recover screen is different, as in it doesn't try to fix any problems before it gets tot he screen where you can select recover, memory test and command prompt. T he brainwave was to use a windows 7 disc and boot from CD, this detected that the previous boot was a fail so tried to fix the problem for me, and hooray it did! If you get this problem try booting from a windows 7 disc and let it run a boot repair, you never know might save your bacon! Mike Buy me a beer :)
