process1_initialization_failed sbs 2011

Had the error process1_initialization_failed today while working on a sbs2011 server, just blue screened on reboot and was unable to get into the O/S. Tried everything from deleting the boot up cache to changing the partition boot order nothing worked, until a brainwave hit!

The server itself has the same boot up structure as windows 7 but the recover screen is different, as in it doesn't try to fix any problems before it gets tot he screen where you can select recover, memory test and command prompt. T

he brainwave was to use a windows 7 disc and boot from CD, this detected that the previous boot was a fail so tried to fix the problem for me, and hooray it did!

If you get this problem try booting from a windows 7 disc and let it run a boot repair, you never know might save your bacon! Mike

PS Admin - Dlink print servers Dlink Print Server Setup ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Printserver/PS_Admin/Psadmin.exe Double click the downloaded file this creates a folder in the c: drive called psadmin\disk1 run the setup util from here. Follow the on screen prompts and install normally. Double click the PS Admin ver 3.00 shortcut now in the progrm list. Select the correct print server on the left device list. The characters co-incide with the last 6 digits on the print servers MAC Address. Once selected choose the TCP/IP Protocol in the configuration section on the screen, In here add the IP address, Subnet and gateway address. Once added Click the save configuration and your Print server is configured. From here you can also do remote test pages, firmware upgrades and factory resets.
