BT VDSL Adapter socket upgrade
I read a while ago about upgrading the standard BT socket in a house to a new
VDSL socket. I thought i would give it a go and see if it improved my poxy
download and give em a bit more speed.
I purchased a BT Openreach VDSL ADSL NTE5 Adaptor Faceplate - correct name - from a local supplier for 13 quid and followed the online description from clarity.it
http://www.clarity.it/vdsl_nte5_adaptor_faceplate.htm
now i was a bit sceptical about it but it is a 2 mins thing to install, you lose the microfilter on your box as it is all inside this thing.
Before
After
So for the sake of 15 quid and 5 mins of my time i have increased my download sync rate
Happy yes, if you dont have Cable and dont want a long drawn out infinity contract and want to try improving your speed give it a go.
I posted this hear for future reference so if anyone else fancied it they could give it a go.
If you wanted to buy me a beer for these instructions please use paypal below :)
